Monkee's of Columbia: One Dress, Two Looks

In honor of the weekend, today we are going to talk about that one staple item that should be in every girls' closet: the dress that effortlessly takes you from day to night. Yes, I said effortless! While this may seem like a lot of work, the point of this transition is simplicity. Moving from day to night should be as simple as changing your accessories and shoes. Therefore, you want to start with a polished shift or sheath dress. This way you won't be limited when it comes to accessorizing. Our featured look was inspired by a navy Susana Monaco pocket shift dress. First off, anything Susana Monaco makes screams comfortability! Her knits are extremely soft and always made with top-quality fabrics. Second, who doesn't love a dress that involves pockets?! Lastly, we love this dress because of its rich navy color. Navy offers immense versatility when it comes to fashion and is often considered a neutral. It is just as versatile as black while softer and less severe. The best thing about navy, however, is that it looks good on everyone - no matter the shade or your hair or skin. Navy can be paired with other neutral tones or even with a brighter shade. You can give your navy outfit contrast by pairing a different shade of blue like we have done with our Ramon Tenza "Taylor" loafers. Again, a simple shift dress comes in handy as it allows you to freely wear whatever jewelry you want.
